Furthermore, the original arms holding a shotgun were carefully clipped off at different points in order to allow me to superglue an Adhesive Rifle and empty hand onto the figure. This conversion used a couple of pieces left over from my aforementioned starter box - which I'm always pleased to utilise, and provided me with a bit more variety to my Eastern Bloc force.

Lastly, I gave the Adhesive Rifle a lick of "Citadel" Abaddon Black, "Vallejo" Gunmetal and "Citadel" Nuln Oil, before picking out its quilted carry-case in White Star by "Two Thin Coats". This area was later shaded using some heavily-watered down "Citadel" Agrax Earthshade, and hopefully gives the impression that the tool-turned-trap can get incredibly hot whenever its in use - even on the Moon's surface.

Finally, I'm still quite merrily picking away at four Napoleonic Infantrymen by "Wargames Foundry". My plan is to simply finish an area on the quartet each day until they are done, and am currently making progress on their muskets. Taken from blister FN054 - Light Infantry Chasseurs Advancing I may well use this approach for my future Black Powder projects, as this technique isn't too time-consuming, and also doesn't seem to make all the Frenchmen's details quite so intimidating - at least in my mind...

Your getting quite a large force of these Cosmonauts now, will be interested to see what colors you use on the Spectra Blademasters. If selecting one bit a day on your Napoleonic's is working for you, then it's definitely the right way to go.
ReplyDeleteThe plan is to have the Russians act as the random wandering foes, so the Americans and other faction can team-up against them. So I do need a fair few of them, LOL!! I don't plan to make the Spectra Blademasters too colourful as they're quite tiny compared to their 28mm scale versions. The 'bit plan' is definitely working for me. So I hope to keep it going into next month too.
DeleteGreat conversion on the spaceman, I genuinely thought that was how it came. Great job. Adhesion rifle? There are some great sounding weapons in that game.
ReplyDeleteAnother great looking epic scale model. I am interested to see how the normal sized troops compare to these bigger models.
Your Napoleonic soldier is coming along nicely.
Thanks Undercoat. I do like the fact that so many weapons in Lunar appear to be every day tools which have been turned into deadly implements. I'm hoping to have a smattering of Epic Warpath figures finished by the month's end, as I plan to focus on the range throughout December - so want a few test pieces/colour schemes nailed down by then.
