| "This battle was a draw." |
“Once again, much of this programme's focus sits with Bluebeard's Bombardiers, who have forked out an impressive 140,000 copper pieces for the dynamic duo of Beggerlug Christmas and Uthaek Mudshaper - Two Dwarf Blocker Linemen who really mean business."

| "Mutual exhaustion led to a truce being called, and the leaders of both sides attempted to parley." |
"Sticking with the club's colour scheme, both Christmas and Mudshaper's gloves and shoulder-pads were later pigmented with "Vallejo" Heavy Red, given a liberal splosh of "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson, and a carefully placed highlight or two of (more) "Vallejo" Heavy Red. Lastly, Beggerlug's famous beard had a little "Two Thin Coats" White Star daubed all over his facial hair, as well as a dash of "Citadel" Nuln Oil."

"For now we just know that their manager is head-hunting as many Troll Slayers and Blitzers as the rules permit for an amateur side, and the players will apparently be sporting dark green uniforms with white helmets. Furthermore, there's a lot of gossip that they intend to plaster their faces with yellow paint just prior to kick-off..!!"

Great stuff mate, love these commentary themed post and cracking work on the players too.
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger
Thanks Roger. I have a lot of fun penning these Blood Bowl themed posts. Hopefully, once the eight Bluebeard's Bombardiers players are finished I can do a game commentary or two...
DeleteThe bloody game itself is addictive. Frustrating, and will make you pull your hair out! Not that I have any !!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL Phil!!! I managed to get a few games in a couple of years ago, playing with my Dwarf Sevens team the Rusty Buckets. So I thought I'd try to paint up a couple more sides for a Dwarf Bowl of some sort.
DeleteGreat work on the Dwarves Simon, and starting another team already !
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave. Yes, I had a couple of Dwarf players left over from my Bombardiers roster, so popped onto Ebay to pick up enough for a third Dwarf team. LOL!!
DeleteGreat work on Dwarfs!
ReplyDeleteCheers Michal. These old Dwarf sculpts are a lot of fun to paint, imho.
DeleteYou know I love these golden oldie sculpts and you continue to paint them up smashingly. I don't recall, have you shown us a deathroller yet and if not, is there one in the near future incoming?
ReplyDeleteThanks very much indeed, Dai. Sadly I don't own a deathroller and am not willing to fork out £60-£100 for one on the second-hand market. I do have a lot more classic Blood Bowl figures to come though, and not all of them are second edition Dwarves either. ;-)
DeleteOof! Yeah, that's a bit steep of an asking price. Am sure there's a 3d print file out there that's a close approximation tho. I'm going to see what I can find. ;)
DeleteI got all excited and then had to suck it back up again.... Only "Deathroller" stls out there are dumb looking, not matching the 2nd edition design aesthetic at all. I am defeated.
DeleteI do own the STLs to a Dwarf team which I believe includes a Deathroller, Dai. But for now I'm sticking with the old second edition Citadel figures - and as we both agree, they're sadly selling for a lot more than I'm willing to pay.
DeleteBeggerlug Christmas and Uthaek Mudshaper! Where do you get the inspiration for these names? Made me chuckle. So you are starting your third dwarf team? Any other races getting a look in this year? Lol.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! I do like to give my Blood Bowl players some suitably memorable names, Undercoat. I am indeed starting a third Dwarf BB team - this time focusing upon a Bezerker-heavy line-up if I can. I also would like to actually get that Human side painted up too - which I did the test figure for a good couple of years ago now.
