"A Hover Or 'Lifter' Light Vehicle..."

"...The 'Battle Taxi' combat APC variant which carries Eight Troopers and Two Crew."

This 15mm scale Grey Adder APC Battle Taxi Lifter is sold by “Alternative Armies” and can be purchased as Pack Code IAF036G from the company’s "The Ion Age" range. Supplied as a single piece resin vehicle, it has a "front mounted Angis 12.5mm AP Gun", and is approximately 60mm long, 45mm wide and 25mm tall.

Due to my desire to use the miniature as a test piece for my recently acquired pot of "Citadel" Sons Of Horus Green, I super-glued it to a large-sized plastic "Flames Of War" stand by “Battlefront Miniatures” and primed it using two coats of the aforementioned layer paint. I then shaded the entire automobile with “Citadel” Nuln Oil, before treating it to an enthusiastic dry-brush of (more) "Citadel" Sons Of Horus Green using a soft-bristled make-up brush.

"Crooked Dice Game Design Studio" - The Strawman, Talos, Giant Ape, Titans, Simian Minions and Robots

With the basic bodywork completed, I next applied some "Citadel" Abaddon Black to the Battle Taxi Lifter's flexible skirt and a combination of "Vallejo" Gunmetal and "Citadel" Nuln Oil to the engines, vents and gun. I was actually somewhat tempted to stop at this stage and call the model done, as having perused a fair few of the Legion's fully-pigmented "Games Workshop" vehicles on the internet, the vast majority of them seemed to simply be pure Sons Of Horus Green.

However, having also seen some of the colour schemes for the heretical space marines' armour, I really wanted to give the 'proxy Rhino' a splash of colour, so picked out its top cover and entry hatch in "Citadel" Abaddon Black, as well as a long strip of piping in "Vallejo" Gold and "Citadel" Agrax Earthshade. Finally, I applied one of the Sons Of Horus Legion transfers I've just received from "Games Workshop" onto the vehicle's rear hatchway. At £20 a sheet these decals are incredibly expensive, but seemingly highly sought after as they're already "temporarily out of stock online" despite only being available since this past Saturday.

"Battlefront Miniatures" WIPs - Two MG34 Machine-gun teams

Alongside the Battle Taxi Lifter I have also been working on some other 15mm miniatures, albeit 'proper' historical stuff. One of my earliest weekly painting challenges, randomly chosen upon the turn of a playing card, was to pigment ten German soldiers from the “Hit The Beach” starter set for “Flames Of War”, and having made a couple of false-starts on this small-sized project, I am finally knuckling down with the two remaining sMG34 Machine-gun teams I require to field a full platoon.

In addition, my recently completed Titan by "Crooked Dice Game Design Studio" brought another of my weekly painting challenges to an end. This one required me to finish ten 28mm scale figures, so I thought I'd use it (and last month's Monster May(hem) event) to clear through a number of the Lincolnshire-based manufacturer's models which have been sat upon my hobby desk unloved for a considerable period of time...
